In the Bible, Paul says
“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.”
Colossians 4:2-3 NIV
I praise the Lord that I am not “in chains” as Paul was. However, I would ask that you devote some time to prayer “And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ,” that is the Gospel.
Local church members, I believe that God wants to “open a door” into students’ hearts through our kindness and care for the new international students as they arrive each July/August and December/January. Would you join me in praying that many of the families from our local churches would choose to open themselves to care for one or two. We have an opportunity to connect them to a student(s) who are preparing to come. Making this connection before they come can be a huge comfort to the student and allow us to prepare individualized care and support.
